$1,000 Full-Time Acute Care (Tier 2 or Tier 3) Medical Transcriptionist Sign-On Bonus

We are offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus for full-time acute care (Tier 2 or Tier 3) medical transcriptionists with a minimum of one year of recent acute care transcription experience who work all full-time scheduled hours (39 hours per week) between the hours of 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday in his or her local time zone.

What are the requirements to be eligible for the $1,000 full-time acute care sign-on bonus?

For all employees hired on or after November 1, 2008, you must:
  • Have one year of recent acute care transcription experience transcribing physician-dictated inpatient medical records reports. Work type familiarity should include history/physicals, consultations, and discharge summaries. Operative note experience is required for Tier 3 medical transcriptionists.
  • Pass the MedQuist Acute Care transcription test and be placed into the qualifying position at the time of hiring.Be classified as a full-time Tier 2 or Tier 3 transcriptionist working a minimum of 39 hour per week, Sunday through Saturday.
  • Work all scheduled hours between 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. in your local time zone.
  • Meet all requirements (production and quality) in that same Tier 2 or Tier 3 position at 3 months and 9 months of service.
  • Consistently adhere to the work schedule that has been agreed upon with your Customer Care Manager. Changes to the MT schedule that include hours outside of 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the local time zone will disqualify you from the bonus.
  • Fall under one of the following MT classifications:
    -- Full-time acute care transcriptionists with benefits, who must transcribe an average of 150 lines per hour, work 39 hours per week and transcribe reports with a minimum of 98 percent accuracy; or
    -- Full-time acute care transcriptionists without benefits, who must transcribe an average of 100 lines per hour, work 39 hours per week and transcribe reports with a minimum of 98 percent accuracy.

The following candidates are excluded and cannot be considered under the program:

  • Current employees of MedQuist;
  • Individuals who terminated employment with MedQuist after June 2008.

Bonus Payment:

  • The first $500 installment will be paid after three months (90 days) of employment and confirmation by manager that the medical transcriptionist is meeting full-time production and quality requirements, and working all required scheduled hours between 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. in their local time zone.
  • The second $500 installment will be paid after nine months of employment and confirmation by manager that the medical transcriptionist is meeting full-time production and quality requirements, and working all required scheduled hours between 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. in their local time zone.
